Thomas Tuchel has been named as the new manager of Ligue 1 champions Paris St Germain, replacing Unai Emery.
Tuchel, who has been out of work since leaving Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017, has been one of Europe’s most in-demand coaches.
However the 44-year-old German manager has signed a two-year deal in Paris, with the expectation of delivering the Champions League firmly on his shoulders.
A statement from PSG declared Tuchel to be ‘a lover of dynamic, attacking football and an accomplished tactician’, and that his Dortmund side was ‘always adhering to his footballing principles based on teamwork, creativity, high intensity and competitiveness.’

It said: ‘His footballing philosophy and success has earned him the admiration and respect of the sports’ biggest names.’

Emery’s two-year spell in charge at the Parc des Princes will come to an end after PSG’s final game of the season at Caen on Saturday. – SportsMail
