Swedish giants, Djurgårdens IF, say that there is no deal in place to sign Mamelodi Sundowns’ Khama Billiat, despite rumours circulating online.

The club already has another Zimbabwean player on their payroll, striker, Tino Kadewere.

There has been talk that Billiat, who will see his Masandawana contract expire at the end of the season, had agreed to join the Allsvenskan outfit, the club’s Director of Sport, Bo Andersson says that that’s not the case.

Andersson who, though admitting they were aware of Billiat’s ability, explained that it would be ‘very difficult’ to try and get him on board.

He told the crew, “We know of Khama, we know that he is a good player, but it would be very difficult to bring him here. As far as I’m concerned they are just rumours.”

The Swedish transfer window is one of those that is still open for business at present, although it does now look like Sundowns are more likely to lose Billiat on a free transfer than find a buyer willing to match their asking price at this stage.

Billiat has been linked to numerous clubs over the past few months, although there has been nothing confirmed by the player or Sundowns with regards to where he will be playing his football next season. – Soccer Laduma
